We at A-Action Steamway LLC would like to give you, our customers, some basic carpet cleaning tips.  Vacuuming is where most people start when maintaining their carpet.

• Carpets need to be vacuumed at least once a week .  Frequent vacuuming prolongs the life of your carpet by preventing a buildup of all different particles. These particles can cut carpet fibers.  Every few weeks, take a little extra time and use your crevice tool for cleaning around baseboards, radiators and other hard to reach surfaces.
• Take your time when vacuuming your carpet, especially a plush carpet in which dirt is sure to be deeply embedded.  One pass with a high powered upright is not enough.  Go over each section of carpeting several times and work slowly to allow the suction to remove all the ground in dust and dirt.
• Pay special attention to the areas where people sit and move their feet.  Vacuum these areas with a crisscross pattern of overlapping strokes.
• We also recommend using a soil retardent on your carpet.  It is best to follow the manufacturers advice on your carpet because this can vary.  We can apply the soil retardent on your freshly cleaned carpet.  You should always have this applied  by a professional with the proper equipment and application techniques!
